Opportunities are not readily presented to the right person at the right time in the right place. A person employed in a company is faced with several barriers to her/his professional development. Either the workplace does not foster a learning environment or the project types are very limited in nature and the employee’s role within it is even more limited. This is the “lucky” employee who has found a job in her/his career. Other people do not even get the chance to get interviewed or even work in their area of education or experience.
